Just a note for the record about my Theater trip with my friend Janet in November, 2015, to immerse ourselves in the Broadway shows.
We arrived on Tuesday afternoon and stayed at the Marriott Marquis Hotel, Times Square.
Tuesday night we saw "FUN HOME", with dinner at LA Maseria, which is a theater district favorite.
Our Wednesday Matinee was The great Gershwin musical, An American in Paris. Beautiful choreography and music. We were stunned to see them using full on real Ballet in a musical. An unusual and very effective approach.
Wednesday evening was Al Pachino in "China Doll", and Thursday morning we went to the Whitney
Museum downtown to see the Frank Stella Exhibit. It's worth a visit to the Whitney just to enjoy the design of this new exhibit space. Then we visited a few midtown art galleries and lunched at Le Colonial, a favorite Vietnamese Restaurant.
The Show Thursday evening was "The Gin Game". Its a revival of real Classic. James Earl Jones and Cicely Tyson .
WE have done this trip annually now for about 4 years and really enjoy the adventure.
